Things my giant calves & quads are good for: running,
particularly running uphill.
Personal Records
5k- 20:37 (6:38/mile)
4.5 miles- 31:40 (7:02/mile)
8k- 33:40 (6:47/mile)
10k- 46:36 (7:29/mile)
Half Marathon- 1:43:00 (7:51/mile)
Marathon- 3:38:40 (8:20/mile)
2013 Goals
-April 13: Sweat for the Vets 5k in under 24:00
-May 11: Don't Fence Me In 5k in under 23:00. It's actually only 2.9 miles with 430 feet of elevation gain. 23:00 seems high, but last year the first place female ran a 20:55 and second place ran a 23:20, so I don't really know what to expect.
-late June (TBA): Bozeman Solstice Mile: a flat, fast mile race that I've never run. Goal time is less than 6:15.
-July 28: Madison Marathon Relay. Highest road marathon in the country. Not running for a time, just for the scenery.
-August 3: Bozeman Stampede 5k in under 20:00. Fairly flat and one of the only certified courses around. Probably my best chance to achieve my goal time!
-August 23: Livingston Night Owl Run in under 30:30. One of my favorite races, I missed last year but finished the two years prior to that in 31:40 and 31:41. Going to try to run it smart and not waste all my energy on the initial uphill.
-October 13: Raw Deal Run
-November 2: Montana Cup

And last, but certainly not least, a big thank you to Gu Energy and Honey Stinger for giving me the opportunity to participate in their pro deal programs. My bank account would be hurting as much as my legs after a speed workout if I didn't have these programs. Thanks for the fuel! Also, a huge thank you to Oiselle for accepting me onto their ambassador team. Can't wait to rock the new threads!

what is a pro-deal program? and nice running resume!
ReplyDeletePro deals are great, just head to the website of the companies that you like and look for a link to their sponsorship programs. You fill out an application and if accepted you get some level of discount on their products or a full sponsorship. In return, you periodically update the company on what you're doing. Clothing and shoe companies also usually have programs like this, although they seem a bit harder to get in to. You should definitely look into it, you're so fast that you're bound to get deals!
